Rabbit Hole: Hopscotch
Scenography and Lighting design
Rabbit Hole is a performance, cinema and architecture twisted together. Without using digital effects, the medium is reduced to its most archaic element : framing.
In the theatre, these virtual bodies captured in a defunct mine, will join their physical copies inside a shifting architectural set.
Shizuka proposed a mobile house with a distorted perspective, where the walls can be opened for film projections, and support dancers’ weight to demonstrate the gravity and perception game like choreography.
She also made very minimal yet sometimes emotional lighting design to make smooth connections between physical dance movements and virtual film projection scenes.
Choreography and dance by Domenico Guistino, Gilles Fumba and Kajsa Sanderstrom.
